Charles, a 12-year-old from a middle-class family, fatherless and passionate about these canine athletes, dreams of winning the next title. However, he lacks the means to afford one of these athletes and faces his mother's prohibition against having a pet at home. Engulfed in despair, he suddenly meets a scruffy stray greyhound who shares the same dream. They team up to embark on an epic adventure and fulfill their common dream.
However, their path to glory is fraught with obstacles. They must overcome the pressure from Charles's family, particularly his mother, who is reluctant to welcome an animal at home. They also face mockery, two dog catchers trying to capture his furry friend, Crepin's gang doing everything to make him give up on his dreams, and fierce competition. Despite these challenges, Charles and the stray greyhound are determined to overcome all obstacles to achieve their shared ambition and prove that even the most unlikely duo can become champions.
