SYNOPSIS:
In 1987, Conroy Andropholis is a young, energetic go-getter who loves speed. His ultimate goal is to race in the Formula 1 series set in the majestic city of Monte Carlo. On a hot summer day, racing fans from all over the world gather to witness the grand race in its rawest form, where racers push themselves to the limit, sweating bullets while reaching speeds of over one hundred and fifty miles per hour.
The ambitious driver from Tucson utilizes his skills, both as a driver and someone who cannot tolerate being in second place for too long. He skillfully rounds a curve, hops over a penalty line, and overtakes his opponent, Fincennzo. This daring move angers his pit boss, Al Fish. Despite Al's frustration, Conroy manages to defeat Fincennzo by a car length, as his opponent suffers a blown tire in the process.
A year later, after a horrific accident on the circuit, Conroy finds himself back in the United States, nursing his leg in the hospital, reflecting on his ill-fated decision and what went wrong on the race track. Shortly afterward, his older brother Wayne enters the room for a heart-to-heart discussion about Conroy's future. Unfortunately, the conversation does not go well for either of them.
Once released from the hospital, Conroy wastes no time and attends an automobile convention for enthusiasts. The event is a small piece of heaven for car lovers, featuring brand new engines, parts, and the enticing aroma of oily valves. Amidst the crowd, Conroy discovers a lone woman who has designed and built the world's first Magnetic propulsion engine that requires no fuel. This discovery piques his curiosity, especially given his background in MIT.
Recognizing this as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, Conroy eagerly attends the presentation hosted by Embassy Corporation to learn firsthand how the engine operates. After a brief conversation with the designer, Sherry Gulliver, who is also aware of Conroy's past as a race car driver, he becomes determined to build his own version of the engine. Despite Sherry's initial skepticism, Conroy recruits his longtime friend, Otis Plant, to join him in the endeavor.
Together, they gather the necessary parts, including fifty thousand magnets. Back at their makeshift lab on Conroy's property, they start assembling a single core that will power and stabilize a small craft. With luck and unwavering determination, they aim to make it fly without the need for a combustible engine.
