Act I - New York
In New York, a CIA agent team is eliminated during a data transfer, leaving the only CIA lead being Robert Johnathan, a retired field agent now working a desk job. Johnathan is arrested and pleads innocence, but his claims fall on deaf ears. Escaping CIA custody, Johnathan reconnects with an old friend, Liam Sterling, a laid-back MI6 agent. Together, Johnathan and Sterling capture the man who interrogated Johnathan, a second CIA worker who reveals that the CIA Head of State, William Jason, is responsible for the framing. As they investigate, the spy duo uncovers a connection to a Cuban terrorist named Nikos Moran. After a chase, they manage to secure a flight to Cuba with the help of an old Special Forces sea pilot, Hawkins.
Act II - Cuba & Germany
Upon landing in Cuba, an elite assassin kills Hawkins and nearly takes out Johnathan. He's swiftly pursued by the Cuban police, who are on Moran's payroll. After linking up with Sterling's contact, Bella, a female D.I. agent, Sterling works to keep the CIA at bay while Johnathan and Bella infiltrate Moran's palace estate. Inside, they discover that Moran has been collaborating with Jason to sell state secrets. When the agents are exposed, they're captured by the assassin, whom Nikos Moran recognizes. During the interrogation, the assassin attacks Moran and offers to reveal who hired him: a German scientist named Lambert. However, the assassin kills Moran. Sterling and Johnathan separate from Bella and are ambushed by unknown forces while trying to leave Cuba. Reuniting in Germany, they find themselves pursued by both the CIA and GSG9. Sterling, with Johnathan's location compromised, teams up with Australian agent Alura McCall to infiltrate GSG9 headquarters. There, Sterling learns that Lambert's son is a German scientist now in Cyprus. During a confrontation with the assassin, Tobias Fisher, Sterling and Fisher are captured by GSG9 but manage to escape. While retrieving Johnathan, he's caught by GSG9, and the trio barely escapes in a high-speed chase to the airport.
Act III - Cyprus
The trio arrives in Nicosia, Cyprus, to locate Lambert. Alura handles satellite overwatch for MI6, while Sterling clears some agents and Johnathan goes to Lambert's apartment, only to find him near death. Lambert reveals his father's involvement with the Nazis in World War II and his later collaboration with Oppenheimer to create the Atom bomb, though Lambert's design was deemed too destructive. He divulges that he worked with the Azim sisters to initiate the theft of the disc designs, which Sterling and Johnathan now pursue. As MI6 seeks the Azim sisters, Sterling narrowly escapes Fisher's attack. Meanwhile, the CIA makes a truce with Johnathan, but New York is nuked just as the British are extracting the agents from Cyprus. Learning that the sisters are targeted by Russian Special Forces, a rapid deployment is authorized. Johnathan is HALO dropped into the Israeli compound to ensure the disc is destroyed. There, he's captured alongside a Russian spy who reveals that the Azim Sisters intend to destroy Russia and frame America. Johnathan escapes following an interrogation, trailing the sisters to their helicopter, where he eliminates them. Despite his best efforts, the last disc is activated. Johnathan parachutes out just in time to avoid the blast. With him presumed dead, Johnathan retreats into hiding to live a peaceful life away from the watchful eyes of both the CIA and MI6.
