GENRE: Crime
LOGLINE: Less than two weeks from graduation, Chris has to somehow keep his sister from joining a gang and watch out for his own life.
SYNOPSIS:
Act 1:
A chaotic scene unfolds as students flee the schoolyard, screaming in fear from a shootout. As police cars arrive at the scene, loud screams are heard from Crystal, who is on her knees surrounded by other students trying to calm her down. Amid the chaos, Chris is seen lying on his back with a look of peace, a tear rolling down his cheek before he closes his eyes. The story then flashes back four weeks earlier.
Act 2:
On the night Chris witnesses his best friend Clip murder a rival gang member from the Bloods, his life begins a downward spiral. When he arrives home, he discovers his sister Tasha is communicating with Tony, the leader of the Bloods and best friend of the man Clip murdered. The next day, while a teacher discusses the murder, Chris makes a comment that leaves a bad taste in Tony's mouth. A fight nearly erupts, but the teacher defuses the situation, and Tony leaves the room. Later, Tony and some other Bloods ambush Chris in the bathroom, beating him and leaving him with a message that Clip and any other Crip members are dead.
When Clip and Mike learn about the attack on Chris, they confront Tony in the lunchroom, sparking a massive gang brawl. After school, at the bus stop, Chris tries to convince Tasha to leave Tony, but Tony and his friends arrive and threaten Chris with an AK-47. A couple of days later, while Chris, Mike, and Clip are on the strip, Chris sees Tasha with Tony. He gets out of the car to confront her, and another gang brawl ensues, culminating in a shootout that leaves Mike paralyzed.
Days later, following an incident on the strip and tension at home caused by Tasha, she gets involved in a gang fight at school, ending up unconscious in Chris's arms in the hallway. Due to rumors about Tasha, Chris gets into another fight days later. That night, fed up, Chris seeks Clip's help to kill Tony, but unbeknownst to them, Tony plans to use Tasha to find out where Clip lives. As Chris and Clip head to gather reinforcements, Tony and his crew ambush them, opening fire. One of Tony's friends and Clip are killed before their car speeds away into the night.
Act 3:
While on the riverwalk with Crystal, Chris breaks down over Clip's death, just as her ex-boyfriend Calvin approaches. Calvin insults Crystal, provoking a fight that nearly ends with Chris killing him. Chris then rebukes Crystal and leaves her crying.
In the following days, while talking with Mike and having a drink at his house, Chris reveals the guns he took from Clip's house. Mike tries to convince Chris that he's not a true Crip, but Chris ignores him and leaves. On his way home after getting off the bus, he's ambushed by two pretend Bloods but manages to shoot them down. Despite one pleading for his life, Chris shoots him in the face.
Chris rushes home to hide the guns and finds Tony and Tasha about to have sex. A fight ensues, and Tasha knocks Chris out with a trophy. At Clip's funeral, Tony disrupts the service by throwing a flaming blue bandanna down the aisle, sparking a chase by half of the mourners.
Outside, a gang brawl erupts. Chris finds Tony hiding behind a car and kills him with a shotgun. That night, Tasha seeks a truce with Chris, and they embrace, declaring the truce genuine. The next day at school, Chris checks his graduation status and is elated to see he passed with flying colors. However, as he leaves the library, he encounters Tasha, who reveals her involvement in Clip's murder and spits in his face before fleeing. Chris pulls out his guns and chases her. They burst out of the school, and as Chris realizes he's been set up, other gang members open fire. Tasha, several students, and some gang members are killed. Chris, riddled with bullets, utters his last words as his vision fades to black.
