How To Get Rid Of Your Ex Without Really Trying

SYNOPSIS:
Charlotte recently divorced, is excited to start a new life far away from her ex-husband. After the divorce, she inherits Maui Blue Tours, a hot-air balloon touring company from her father. She asks her best friend Roxy to join her in the business as a partner. Charlotte tells Roxy that her ex is upset about not receiving any part of her business in the divorce. But the ex is already making plans to challange the divorce. Charlotte wishes she could simply scare her ex, Archie, straight and leave her alone. Roxy argues that scaring a man straight won't work. You have to beat him into submission until he calls out for his mommy.
Charlotte's first tour group are a couple and their nine-year-old daughter. As the balloon disapears into the clouds, we hear the sounds of squawking pterodactys and screaming. As the ballon appears from above the clouds, we shut our eyes, not wanting to see what has happened to this nice family. However, it turns out to be just the daughter who accidentally dropped her cassette player, causing her dinosaur tape to start playing.
The chase van returns everyone back to base camp. Roxy hands out souvenirs for the family and hands a deposit check to Charlotte for the next tour. Charlotte examines the check and shows Roxy that this check is from her ex. Charlotte is apprehensive about going up with her ex. She decides to recruit her neighbor Danny to accompany her, but he has a fear of heights.
The next day, Charlotte takes an unscheduled flight, carrying a bag filled with phony hundred dollar bills, that she dumps on a mountain ridge. Houdini, Charlotte's cat is along for the ride.
Archie finally arrives at Maui Blue Tours. As the balloon lifts off, the view is awesome. However, Archie wants to discuss getting back together with Charlotte. Charlotte asks him is this the reason why he wanted to go on this flight. She tells him getting back together is not going to happen. Frustrated, Archie reacts, causing Houdini to swipe at him with her claws. He pushes the cage away and it comes off the track dangling dangerously over the edge of the basket.
Charlotte shoves Archie aside to rescue Houdini. Charlotte reaches out, but Houdini falls out of the cage. With a wide open mouth and eyes as wide as saucers, Houdini stares at us from 2,800 feet above the valley hoping for some quick options here. At 2,500 feet, her fur has puffed out. At 2,100 feet, Houdini can't see right now, her fur is in her eyes. At 1,900 feet, it seems all is lost.
SNAP. At 1,800 feet, a mini parachute deploys for Houdini. She glides down to the rain forest safely. But then a wild boar comes running out of the forest ready to attack. Houdini bolts, but then more wild boars come out of the forest, surrounding Houdini. Once again all seems lost.
Hawaiin mountain men appear from out of the rain forest to rescue Houdini, who is still wearing her parachute. A sudden a gust of wind lifts her up above the tree tops. She slowly descends, the mountain men bow before her, believing she is a mountain goddess.
Meanwhile, in the balloon, Charlotte realizes it was a mistake to take her ex on a tour and decides to cut it short. Archie spots a tree on the mountain ridge with money scattered all about. He tells Charlotte it must be money that fell out of a drug smuggler's plane.
Archie wants to grab some of this money, but as he reaches out, he slips and falls to the ridge below. Danny is horrorfied while Charlotte is in disbelief. Just then the balloon crashes into a neighboring ledge. They are alive, but Danny doesn't think it will be for long.
Charlotte grabs the BASE jump parachute and jumps the three thousand feet to find help. Archie calls out through the clouds, Danny reassures him that Charlotte went for help. Archie calls to Danny saying he's going to die for nothing, the money is fake.
Charlotte lands near an isolated village. Houdini is already there and has taken on the title of the new mountain goddess laying back in a straw lounge chair. The moutain women arrive and give offerings of flowers and fruits.
Charlotte hears sounds in the rain forest. It's Roxy and the chase team coming to save her, having tracked her down using Houdini's GPS transponder. They begin to leave but the mountain men insist that they must carry Houdini, because she is deity now.
Above the mountain a tour plane spots Danny on the mountain ridge and alerts a rescue helicopter. Danny is saved. The rescue team finds Archie on the mountain ridge crying uncontrollably. Then the rescue helicopter arrives at the command post with Archie who is now in a psychotic condition. They transport him by ambulance to Hawaii State Mental Institution.
A month later all seems to be back to normal at Maui Blue Tours until... Roxy sees a newspaper headline about a man who has escaped from Hawaii State Mental Institution. The man is claiming that God told him that Maui Blue Tours will soon be his. Roxy drops her coffee cup and SCREAMS.
