PRICE: $90,000
GENRE: Thriller
LOGLINE: A 13-year-old promising runner, who is recovering from a car "accident," is kidnapped along with his 13-year-old swimmer boyfriend for a lucrative ransom. They must find a way to escape before they are sold off.
SYNOPSIS:
Peter, a promising world-class runner, is coached by his father, Ivan Trotsky (40). Professional coach Glen warns against pushing Peter too hard, but his advice is ignored. Ivan, a drunken bully, mistreats his wife, Nora (35+), and faces the threat of a jail term from the magistrate. Ivan also owes money to a brutal lender named Rastus (40+), who threatens Peter. Rastus ends up injuring Peter.
Jimmy (13), Glen's son, is a champion swimmer who stands up to Gavin (17), a bully harassing Peter at the pool. Jimmy and Peter swim together daily and share a tender relationship. Nora unexpectedly inherits £100,000, and Gavin overhears Peter discussing the money with Jimmy. Gavin and his accomplice, Fixer, kidnap Peter and hide him in an abandoned house. They contact Nora, demanding the money for Peter's release. P.C. Perkins (30+) and Jimmy search the streets for clues. Gavin retrieves the money using a drone in the park. They also kidnap Jimmy. The two boys find themselves trapped in a cellar, finding solace in their close friendship. Gavin warns Fixer not to harm the boys. Meanwhile, Gavin collects money from Jimmy's father using an unmarked motorbike.
Rastus pressures Fixer into selling the boys. In a brave move, the boys fight back against Gavin, and Peter manages to escape, leading Fixer and Gavin on a chase before being recaptured. Glen discovers Peter's model runner outside the old house and recognizes it. Fixer plans to sell Jimmy and hides him in the old house. Glen guides the police to the old house based on the runner's discovery. However, they arrive seconds after Gavin and Fixer have taken the boys away. Gavin and Fixer find refuge in Ivan's flat, as Ivan is the mastermind behind the kidnapping.
Rastus arrives outside Ivan's flat and seizes the boys as they attempt to escape from Gavin's car trunk. Rastus sells the boys to Karpov, a Russian, and drives them to a barn to complete the transaction. However, Glen follows and alerts the police. Glen must delay the buyers by immobilizing their car. The police successfully capture Karpov, the buyers, and free the boys.
P.C. Perkins discovers the money in Ivan's flat with the help of Peter's tiny PC camera. Ivan confronts Fixer when he tries to sell Peter, leading to a fight. Peter joins in and contacts the police for assistance. Peter eventually recovers and participates in a major race, emerging as the victor to everyone's delight. Glen has trained a remarkable winner with a bright future ahead.
